Intensive Individual Therapy

About Me

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 13 years of clinical experience working with diverse range of problems across settings such as hospital outpatient clinics, inpatient and intensive outpatient programs, and university counseling centers. I provide treatment to adults and adolescents for a range of issues including adjustment to life stressors, relationship issues, other problems in daily living as well as more serious clinical problems such as disorders related to mood, anxiety, trauma, and personality. I have expertise in treating anxiety disorders such as panic disorder and agoraphobia, phobias, health anxiety, social anxiety as well as obsessive compulsive and related disorders (OCRD) using evidence-based approaches such as exposure and response prevention (ERP). I also have advanced training in cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for trauma and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) which is effective for treating life-threatening, impulsive, self-destructive behaviors, and problems with emotion regulation. Effective assessment and treatment of self-injury and suicidality has been part of my research and clinical work.

At the beginning of therapy, I conduct a comprehensive assessment, and tailor the treatment to the client’s individual needs while keeping it rooted in the best standards of care. I incorporate mindfulness-based strategies and motivational interviewing in the treatment, as needed. I believe that creating a non-judgmental space and building a connection is important for the therapy to be helpful. Therapy is ultimately directed at creating a life worth living and finding the path to that. Human beings are very resilient and with help in getting unstuck from their problems, they can return to their full potential. I have had the privilege of helping several clients return to full functioning in their work, social, and personal lives. If interested, please contact me for a brief consultation so we can assess whether we could work well together.
